Tips and Tricks for getting the best Avon rental home experience:
When to visit Avon & When to book:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Hatteras area. Book your Hatteras rental home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Charming home with ocean view, private pool, hot tub - 1-minute walk to beach has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If not, call the property owner before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Hatteras destination you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
Have a fantastic stay:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. text the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
