Adore the water? Then make this charming Island Creek Resort condo your home-away-from-home. Located in a semi-private waterfront resort designed for active beach life, this condo is the ideal place to spend a long and calming hideaway with someone you appreciate. Inside, the home enjoys two levels of comfort and convenience, with tons of natural light cascading in through broad, ocean-facing windows, comfortable furnishings, and plenty of space for everybody to move around in. The main level features an open concept that encompasses the living, dining, and kitchen areas, so you can keep up with conversation, no matter what you're up to. The full kitchen includes all the stainless steel appliances and counter space the family chef could ask for, and the dining table has seating for six dinner guests. You'll adore taking your afternoon meals outside on the wrap-around deck, and you can wrap up an evening soaking in the lower-level's private hot tub. Spend the day on a hot-weather hike then cool off with a swim in the shared pool before coming back to spread out in the living room to watch a good movie or show on the living room's mounted flatscreen TV.

Set on Avon's pristine north end and accessible only by bridge, Island Creek Resort offers over 1,000 feet of shallow sound-front access. Windsurfers, kite surfers, kayakers, and kids will appreciate this ultra-friendly location where miles of open Pamlico Sound facilitate launching, fishing, exploring, relaxing, or just horsing around in the water.

The boat ramp and docks handle modest boats and personal watercraft. Acres of manicured sod keep Island Creek Resort looking and feeling good underfoot. Grab the Coppertone and head across the street to Avon's super beachfront. Spring and fall guests sing ICR's praises for board sports, while families regale in this secret spot for summer getaways. Seasoned travelers even head to ICR for their winter holidays. For parents introducing their families to the world of watersports and experts looking to ideal their kiting, windsurfing, and kayaking techniques, this is really a resort for all seasons. Island Creek Resort, Avon. It's always better on the island.

Tips and Tricks to get the best Hatteras rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Avon. To get the most suitable rental for your budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Hatteras attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to select the perfect vacation rental:

  • Choose vacation week and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Waterfront dog-friendly home on the Sound with private hot tub, pool & AC has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
