If the surrounding nature beckons the explorer in you, take one of the many exercise trails in the Kinnakeet Shores community that weave through the wetlands along the sound. The watersport enthusiast will appreciate the close proximity to the sound, offering painless access for windsurfing, kayaking, or even fishing for the family’s angler. If you cannot decide where you want to venture, 12C’S provides unobstructed, expansive vistas laying your surroundings out like a map, only thing left is for you to choose your adventure.

From the ground up, this six-bedroom/five-full and one-half bath home sparkles like the waterways that surround it. On the ground level, appreciate ample parking for six cars on a circular driveway, a basketball hoop, outdoor shower, and a fish cleaning station with water and lights. The private heated pool can be appreciated all day and well into the evening as the deck is lighted for max. use. Take the steps up to the first level — or use the all-floor elevator — and discover a game room featuring a pool table and a kitchenette with an ice maker, sink, microwave, and refrigerator making drinks and snacks comfortably available. There are also two bedrooms on this level: a master queen with private bath featuring an accessible shower and a pyramid bunk room located next to a full hallway bath.

Three more bedrooms occupy the second level. There is a master queen with private ensuite bath and two more queen bedrooms that share a hallway bathroom. All the home’s bedrooms feature Intelligent TVs and access to the wraparound deck where a new six-person hot tub provides an enticing way to wind down the evening. The final master king bedroom with private bath and deck access is located on the top level, as is a cavernous, open great room that has everything a family needs to relax and savor each other’s company.

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • In the Hatteras area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Avon. To book the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Hatteras restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.

  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
  • During check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
