Finding the best Rodanthe vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To book the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Hatteras restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Hatteras area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hatteras visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- Select your dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Semi Oceanfront Lot, 3rd house back, 2 king beds & bunk bed, Ocean & Sound Views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hatteras vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
