OCEANFRONT Hatteras — NC Hwy 12 — Oceanfront or soundfront? Pool or surf? Sunrise or sunset vistas? When you think a vacation home can’t have it all, 2 FOR 1 proves otherwise. Located at one of the narrowest points on Hatteras Island, this seven-bedroom/six- and one-half-bath home pulls off the nearly impossible feat of checking all the boxes on your wish list and then some.

Whether you choose to launch a kayak or paddleboard from the backyard or walk the few steps to the Atlantic Ocean for some beach time fun, you are nearly surrounded by water. This, too, includes the 14’ x 28’ private pool surrounded by handsome sound vistas. Plan on lunch at the picnic table, with a gas grille close by to fire up the crowd’s favorite fare. Watersport lovers and anglers will appreciate the under-home storage area for their gear, and everybody will find the outdoor shower an ideal convenience. After a day in the sun, take a break in the ground level game room where a pool table, foosball table, and card table inspire some competitive action. There’s also a kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator and microwave, and a Intelligent TV for those simply ready to chill. Also, on the ground level are two bedrooms: a king master with ensuite bath and a room with two single beds that has use of a hallway bath.

Four more bedrooms are located on the second level and accessible by the full-floor elevator for anyone needing additional assistance. A king master and queen master both feature ensuite baths and deck access with either sound or ocean vistas. Two additional queen bedrooms share a hallway bath. This level features a media room with a TV and deck access. Also on this level is a 6-person hot tub, the ideal place to end the day with a relaxing soak as the moon begins its ascent. The final bedroom, a king master, is located on the top level and offers an ensuite bath and access to the home’s wraparound deck with vistas of the sound. All the home’s bedrooms feature Intelligent TVs.

The top level is another place where 2 FOR 1 really earns its name. It can be both a vibrant place to gather or offer tranquility when desired. Prepping meals for a crowd is made easier by a cavernous, charmingly equipped kitchen featuring stainless steel appliances and loads of counter space. There’s plenty of room to savor those meals, too, at the six-seat breakfast bar, 10-seat dining table, and another picnic table on the deck. Plush furnishings provide terrific sight lines for everybody to come together and watch their favorite shows on the great room’s Intelligent TV. There are multiple points to access the decks and catch a show of another kind — the sunrises and sunsets that make spectacular repeat performances each day.

Located in Hatteras, this vacation home is on the beach. Frisco Mini Golf and Go Karts and Uncle Eddy's Frozen Custard and 18-Hole Mini Golf are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Outer Banks Beaches and Frisco Beach.   • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance.
