Located in elegant Hatteras Village, this home features more than 4,600 square feet of living space and 1,800 square feet of covered and open decks. Take in ocean vistas from the south and a serene ambiance overlooking the marsh, the creek, and Pamlico Sound beyond.
Unloading your car is simple, with protected and well-lighted under-home parking on concrete, a lockable guest closet to store your gear, and some beach chairs, a beach cart, an umbrella, an auger, body boards, and inflatable pool toys available for your use. There's also a fish-cleaning station where you can prep your fresh-caught dinner.
Beach access is via a boardwalk that's an painless, short walk from the home, within the privacy of the Summerplace subdivision. Outside the home, the enormous pool area is ready for games, cookouts, and swimming. A Weber gas grille, dining tables, comfortable chairs, and chaises make for a great addition or alternative to spending the day at the beach. You'll also have two outdoor showers, a pull shower, and a foot shower for rinse-offs.
Savor a ground-level elevator that accesses every floor (with a cab that's bigger than most home elevators), a UV light Air Scrubber Whole-House Air Purifier,
high-speed WiFi, and complimentary long-distance calling. There's a commercial ice maker to keep your refreshments cold, two sets of HE washers/dryers, and LCD HDTVs with the DirecTV premier package in all bedrooms. Netflix, Roku, and an Xbox 360 are also available.
Inside, the first level is sure to be a crowd pleaser. The game room overlooks the pool and features a pool table, a card/game table, a 60-inch HDTV with a Blu-ray player, a home theater, a stereo, video games, books, puzzles, and board games. There's also a kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker, a dishwasher, and peninsula seating. Moving to the back, there's a primary bedroom with two single beds, a full bathroom with bespoke tile shower, and a nice view over the pool toward the ocean.
There are four primary bedrooms on the second floor. The two ocean view king bedrooms have private bathrooms, one with a deep Roman soaking tub. The third king bedroom, with a marsh and creek view, is the biggest and has a recessed window seat. The full bathroom features a roll-under vanity and sink and a bespoke shower with grab bars, a constructed-in seat, a rain-can showerhead, and an additional hand-held shower. The fourth bedroom has double bunk beds and an attached full bathroom with a shower/tub and kid-friendly art and amenities. Also on this floor are a peaceful sitting area, a hall desk with a charging station, and a covered, ocean view deck extending the entire width of the home.
From the walls of windows to the open floor plan, the top level has it all. The great room features plenty of seating, another 60-inch HD LCTV with DirecTV, Roku, complimentary Netflix, a home theater, a Blu-ray/DVD player, and a modern gas fireplace. Adjacent to the great room is the dining area with a table seating 12. Double French doors from the dining area lead to the south-facing sundeck with great ocean vistas - a ideal spot to appreciate the sunrise or an afternoon drink.
The kitchen is exceptionally sizable, with a wall of windows overlooking the marsh, creek, and sound. It comes complete with a commercial six-burner range top, an overhead ventilation hood, double ovens, a warming drawer, a microwave, a Breville intelligent toaster oven, two dishwashers, two humongous farm sinks, a huge stainless French-door refrigerator with two ice makers, an under-counter wine refrigerator, and exceptional-quality cookware and tools.
A screened dining porch is through the door from the kitchen, offering constructed-in speakers for music. The porch has seating for 10 while the adjacent open deck features an additional bistro table for two. This deck also offers an eight-person hot tub and spectacular sunset vistas over the marsh.
The owner's primary king suite is also on the top floor, offering deck access, ocean vistas, a dressing area with a separate vanity, and a bespoke open closet system. There's a bespoke shower spa, a deep Roman soaking tub, and a frosted glass door that leads outside to the hot tub.

Strategies to get the very best Hatteras rental home experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Hatteras area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides have coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and choose the bestrental home:
- First, have your group select trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Luxe, ocean- & sound-view home with private pool, hot tub, decks & game room has 6 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- If there's a particular Hatteras beach you are crazy about, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
