NOTE: A new bridge has newly been constructed on the soundside of our home which is not shown in these photos. The bridge lands on the other side of our street, not too far from our home. The view of the sunset over the sound is still beautiful, but there IS a bridge there now too! We also expect a bit of increased traffic noise once it is in use.

Tips to get the perfect Rodanthe vacation home experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- To get the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Hatteras area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Fully- Equipped Beach House W\/ Pool, Hot Tub, & Gorgeous Views has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hatteras rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a specific Hatteras attraction you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
