Your own slice of Outer Banks heaven awaits at this family- and dog-friendly home, just mins. from the beach. With an unbeatable central location, you can step out the front door and walk to numerous close by eateries, or hop in the car for a fast drive north to Jockey’s Ridge State Park or the Wright Brothers National Memorial, both about 30 miles away. Head south along the Cape Hatteras National Seashore to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, a little over 20 miles away, with miles of glorious beach along the way. There are tons of watersport opportunities close by as well.

At home, start the day with coffee and a glorious sunrise view from the top-level observation deck, then head downstairs to the swing on the screened porch for some peaceful time before the day gets started. Multiple decks on each level, plus a huge yard ideal for the kids and family dog to play, round out your outdoor space.

Inside, you’ll find two levels of living space with comfortable coastal decor and plenty of room to spread out. The newly updated main living area features new floor, new furnishings, and a modern, well-equipped kitchen, with a full suite of stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, tons of cabinet space, and all the cookware you'll need to turn out family feasts - or just snacks for the beach. Grab a bite at the window-front dining tables on either level, then slip into your swimsuit and head for the beach.

When you return, rinse off the sand in the outdoor shower and toss the day’s clothes in the washer/dryer for a quick refresh. If you’ve spent the day fishing, a convenient fish-cleaning table on the patio makes meal prep a breeze. Spend downtime at home in the cozy living room or den upstairs, with entertainment options including four TVs, complimentary WiFi and cable, board games, and a tabletop retro arcade game machine featuring favorites like Donkey Kong and Pac-Man. Three well-appointed bedrooms promise a restful nighttime’s sleep, but not before one more visit to the observation deck for a nighttime toast under the stars to booking the ideal OBX getaway.

How to find the best Hatteras vacation property experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Hatteras area. To get the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Hatteras restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Dog-friendly home steps from beach with yard, multiple decks, and arcade game has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a certain Hatteras attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
