SEMI-OCEANFRONT Waves- O'Neal Rd. -You'll appreciate ocean and sound vistas in this elegant semi-oceanfront beach home with direct beach access - located closer to the beach than some oceanfronts! The ground level has a double concrete drive/carport and all weather entry. The first level has three roomy bedrooms (1 master with queen and TV/DVD) and second bath off the hallway. The upper level has a second queen bedroom with enormous, covered balcony that overlooks the sound and semi-private full bath with Jacuzzi. The living/dining area is light and open with vaulted ceiling and juniper wainscoting, and the kitchen is equipped for serious cooking. The great room opens to a sizable wraparound sundeck, covered porch, and ships watch.

Finding your perfect vacation home:

• June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Waves. Book your rental in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
• In the Hatteras area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
• Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
• Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
• Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
