Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer months are high season in Frisco. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and pick the right Hatteras rental:

  • First and foremost, have your family agree to vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Waterfront House w\/Shared Pool, Water View, Private Washer\/Dryer, Free WiFi has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
