Booking the best Frisco vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Hatteras rental home:
- The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Hatteras vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Hatteras visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
How to choose and book the bestvacation home:
- Start by having your family decide on a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Semi-oceanfront house near beach with private pool, hot tub & AC - dog-friendly has 8 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or could be applied to your agreement.
- If there's an individual Hatteras destination you are enamored with, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
