The third guest room has bunk beds that sleep four on twin beds, also with a Roku TV. The fourth guest room is on the lower level with a queen bed/ ensuite full bath for you to savor and includes an entertainment area – play board games, watch movies on the enormous TV or play foosball in the adjacent garage. This level is heated with 2 oscillating fans during the cold months. You will need to turn them on upon arrival if you are using this space. They are turned off when not in use for safety reasons.

Getting the best vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Hatteras area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Beachside, Dog Friendly + Walk to DQ has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hatteras rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
