Stroll down to the beach, or relax outdoors by the shining private pool or in the private hot tub. Kick off the flip flops, and step inside to relax in the first level game room with wet bar with refrigerator and microwave, foosball, and home theater system. Nearby is a convenient full hall bath, and two bedrooms: one with a king bed, and one with a pyramid bunk with trundle. The second level features three more bright and cheerful bedrooms, including two queen bedrooms that share a full bath, and a king master bedroom that steps out to a breezy deck. Upstairs, savor the top-level great room with a home theater system, peaceful dining area, and step outside the door access to the roomy deck that showcases an ocean view and beautiful sunsets over the sound. With handsome furnishings and decor, it’s painless to leave your worries far behind with a vacation at JAKE’S WAKE.

Vacation Rental Protection Plan: This required non-returnable $95 plan covers accidental damage within the home with a coverage limit of $3,000. It does not cover theft or willful misconduct. You must notify Surf or Sound Realty of any damage that occurs during your occupancy or this coverage will be void. Coverage is effective at time of check-in and ends at time of check-out.

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer time is high season in the Hatteras area. Booking your Hatteras vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses.   • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
