SEMI-OCEANFRONT Avon — Ocean View Drive — Located in the peaceful village of Avon, CAROLINA GIRL offers the ideal beach getaway for multigenerational family get-togethers, friend group vacations or anyone seeking a calming escape by the sea. This roomy six-bedroom/three-full- and two-half-bath home has been freshly refreshed to provide the ultimate blend of coastal appeal and accessibility, paving the way for you to indulge in days filled with sun, sand, and surf.

Those days might begin in the private saltwater pool, parked in one of the loungers on the deck to soak up the sun or in the five-person hot tub ready to provide a calming soak while the sound of close by waves creates a serene ambiance. You will find a basketball hoop along the driveway and a path to the ocean beach not too far away. There’s a gas grille under the carport to prepare up lunch and close by are two outdoor showers and a foot-wash station to make clean-up a breeze. Inside on the ground level you’ll find a laundry room, half bath and a bedroom with two bunkbeds, a Intelligent TV, DVD, and a game table. A ground-level elevator with a wheelchair-friendly ramp ensures that every member of your group can access each floor with ease plus the mobility to transport bags and groceries.

Four more bedrooms are located on the first level including a king master with ensuite bath; two queen bedrooms that share a jack-and-jill bath, and a room with two single beds. All the bedrooms feature Intelligent TVs and access to a peaceful shaded deck. The final bedroom, a king master with broad ocean and south-facing decks, is located on the second level, just off the great room. Here, you are greeted by a bright and airy interior highlighted by cathedral ceilings, new furnishings, a Intelligent TV, an ocean-view dining area that seats eight, wet bar, and a well-equipped kitchen with a six-stool breakfast counter. Vacation Rental Protection Plan: This required non-returnable $95 plan covers accidental damage within the home with a coverage limit of $3,000. It does not cover theft or willful misconduct. Cost saving strategies:

Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Hatteras visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers.   • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
