Thank you for inquiring about our Seamist Escape Unit 8 at the Islander Condominiums in Avon, NC.

At 1100 sq. ft. with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms along with a well supplied kitchen, an 8 place dining room table and a 4 place breakfast table overlooking the Atlantic ocean, we think that you will find the accommodations both roomy and comfortable as you relax to the sound of the ocean waves.

The living room is furnished with a comfortable couch and adore seat, a 42" flat screen TV with cable, and an MP3/IPOD station for your musical enjoyment.

The master bedroom (Captain's Quarters), overlooks the ocean and Avon Pier with an adjoining balcony and has a separate master bathroom. It is furnished with a queen size bed, dresser and media chest with drawers, and a closet, providing ample storage space for clothing and personal items. We have also supplied a 39" flat screen TV with cable for more casual TV viewing.

The master bathroom is cavernous and equipped with a combo jet bath/shower arrangement and a chest to store your towels and personal toiletry items.

The second bedroom is furnished with two twin beds, a modest dresser and a 24" flat screen TV with cable along with a closet.

The balcony provides some of the most expansive and marvelous vistas of the ocean to be had on all of Hatteras Island as we are on the top level well above the dunes. No impediment of the view or sound of the ocean whatsoever.

The kitchen is very well supplied with full size stainless steel appliances, ample cabinet and counter space and a wine cooler.

High speed wireless internet, cable TV MP3/IPOD docking station, as assortment of books, washer and dryer, and iron and ironing board are also included for your convenience. Limited Long distance service is included, however cell service is impressive at the Islander and all of Hatteras Island.

Linens are not supplied, but arrangements can be made to rent linens from close by vendors. We often use Hatteras Helping Hands, located right in Avon.

The Islander Condominium complex is located in the heart of Avon and is in close proximity to many fine eateries and shopping facilities.

A pool is on the premises for those wind blown days and a fishing pier is right next door as well. A health and exercise club is just a short walk as are tennis courts and a putting green at Club Hatteras or the Koru Club, as are many fine eateries and stores. More information regarding things to do will be supplied upon request.

Our unit is a top floor unit which is great for the vistas, but the Islander condominium complex is not serviced by an elevator and therefore, is not suitable for people with physical limitations.

In summary, we feel that you will find our Seamist Escape very comfortable and convenient in every way. Should you like to know more, or if we can provide any assistance to make your vacation more pleasurable, please feel complimentary to contact us.

We thank you for your interest in Seamist Escape.

Our top Hatteras rental property booking tips:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Summer time is high season in the Hatteras area. To find the largest rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Hatteras restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hatteras area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hatteras visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and choose the best Hatteras rental:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Seamist Escape \/ 2 Bedroom Ocean front Condominium has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • If there's an individual Hatteras beach you long to visit, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Tips to have a wonderful stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
