Cost saving strategies:

• Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
• Summer time is high season in the Hatteras area. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
• Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
• Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection.
