• June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
• Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
