Build a handsome resort village on a favorite Hatteras Island location, and they will come. The Cottages at the Cape are the closest rental units to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton. They share a long border with the national park and are literally steps from the beachfront. Bring the bicycles, because Buxton’s unique stores, eateries, and lighthouse are all very close. Forget the 4WD car - those in the know have discovered that the three jetties to the east of the cottages produce some of the best fishing, surfing, and swimming on this island. Walking to the south will take you to open beaches, the famed Cape Point, and if luck is on your side during the summer, a few sea turtle nests (be careful to stay outside the barriers). This is an impressive two-bedroom condo with one-and-a-half baths. The interior has been professionally-decorated with comfortable and fun beach décor. You'll have access to an outside shower and a patio, and there are plenty of appliances, counter space, and cabinet storage in the full kitchen. The screened-in porch is ideal for entertaining guests and appreciating your first cup of coffee in the morning. The living room is a great place to savor a movie nighttime with friends and family after a fun day on the beach. An escape to the cape never looked so good as at Cottages at the Cape.

Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details about this facility will be shared in your check-in e-mail and during the check-in process. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid-October, depending on the weather.

Located in Buxton, this vacation home is in a rural area and near the beach. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Outer Banks Beaches and Lighthouse Beach, while Studio 12 and Kinnakeet Clay Works are cultural highlights. Sticking to your spending plan:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Hatteras area. To find the largest vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Hatteras attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
