Our top Frisco vacation rental booking tips:
Get the best value:
- Summer months are high season in Frisco. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hatteras area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Secluded dog-friendly home with fast WiFi, washer\/dryer, and central AC has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before booking the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
