Find your best deal:

• The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.

• Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.

• Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
• Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
• Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
• Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
• Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
• Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it.
