There are three more bedrooms, including an additional master bedroom, all facing the ocean. The cavernous decks are ideal for watching dolphins or for curling up with a good book. The elevator will help you get groceries or kids upstairs with ease. Jump in the pool if the ocean is a little rough, or step inside to the convenient half bath and roomy game room with pool table, foosball, a flat screen TV, and wet bar with mini refrigerator. Reserve your rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
• Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
• Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
• Look for your local Hatteras visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain coupons for local shops and restaurants.
