Step inside and throw the wet towels in the first level laundry, and take a nap in the close by master bedroom with TV and slider to the covered deck. The family can congregate in the mid-level great room with inviting furnishings, kitchen with breakfast bar, and sunset dining indoors or on the adjacent screened porch or covered deck. At the end of a long day on the water, retire to the queen bedroom w/TV and semi-private bath, or getaway to one of 2 bedrooms on the third level that shares a full bath, one with pyramid bunk with trundle and TV, and one with a queen bed and TV. Both bedrooms have sliders to a sunny soundside deck with vistas of the sound and lighthouse. For some downtime, escape to the loft game room with air hockey table, foosball, TV/DVD and deck access. • June, July, and August are high season in the Hatteras area. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Hatteras vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
• Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
• Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
• Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
• Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

More considerations for your visit:

• Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.

• Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
