Beachfront home in Rodanthe, NC. 5 bedrooms (all masters), 5 full and 2 half baths. Sleeps 10-12. Pet friendly, Game Room. Theatre Room, Elevator to top level kitchen. 6 decks, 3 on the ocean side and 3 on Pamlico Sound Side. Watch the sunrise and sunset each day. Almost every morning you will see dolphins swimming and feeding so bring your binoculars. Private pool and spa. Optional Pool heat at additional cost, $500/wk. High speed Internet is included along with basic cable and ROKU devices for each of the 7 TVs. Home is handicap friendly but the driveway, being that it's on the beachfront, tends to get sandy. We have a couple of portable 4ft x 4ft platforms to assist guests who may have trouble walking in the sand. A 4x4 car recommended particularly after a strong wind event.

Oh and an added note.... we adore fur babies so the puppy dogs are welcome with us! We typically limit to 3 but I have a difficult time saying no to a few more :) we just ask that you bring your own additional blankets to put on beds and furnishings.

Our top Rental booking tips:

Get the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Hatteras visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have deals for local shops and restaurants.

How to pick the best vacation home in the Hatteras area:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Beachfront on Hatteras Island in Rodanthe, NC has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hatteras rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
