Almost every morning you will see dolphins swimming and feeding so bring your binoculars. Private pool and spa. Optional Pool heat at additional cost, $500/wk. High speed Internet is supplied along with basic cable and ROKU devices for each of the 7 TVs. Home is handicap friendly but the driveway, being that it's on the beachfront, tends to get sandy. We have a couple of portable 1ft x 3ft platforms to assist guests who may have trouble walking in the sand. A 4x4 car recommended particularly after a strong wind event.
Oh and an added note.... we appreciate fur babies so the puppy dogs are welcome with us! We typically limit to 3 but I have a difficult time saying no to a few more :) we just ask that you bring your own additional blankets to put on beds and furnishings.

Our top Hatteras rental home tips and tricks:
Get the best rental home value:
- Summer time is high season in Rodanthe. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Hatteras vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Hatteras area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hatteras area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hatteras area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Beachfront on Hatteras Island in Rodanthe, NC has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.

- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Have a wonderful stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
