Sitting on the west and east sides of a well-maintained condominium, our rental offers breathtaking vistas of the canal and landscaped backyard. We take very good care of the property, seeking to give our guests the best of both a home and a hotel. Either on the unit’s east or west decks, the pristine beach, or by the pool, there is plenty of space to savor the sun in an area surrounded by nature.

Irida II is based on a theme. In recognition of the very long and storied maritime history of the Outer Banks, we created three rooms of photography – in effect three galleries – that tell a story of nature and the human want to sail. We are sailors, and we have been blessed for years to experience the marvelous gifts of nature the Outer Banks provides. It is our enjoyment to attempt to share our world through our eyes.

Grocery shopping and many eateries are all within a five-min. drive, and Ocean Air Sports – a leading watersports center on the outer banks – is next door. This area is one of the most fashionable kiteboarding and windsurfing locations on the entire east coast, and it is equally known for its fishing. A impressive canal gives access to Pamlico Sound, or public access to the ocean beach is only a ten-min. walk away. Given the Outer Banks, concentration of federal and state protected lands, there is ample opportunity for nature-based recreation, and its history is legendary.

Our unit is one level and is located on the first floor, making for easier accommodation than most places in the Outer Banks. The unit has a full kitchen, and two full bathrooms. Cable TV and internet are included, as well as access to the pool. A ground level storage unit is supplied, and is suitable for storing windsurfing, surfing, paddle boards, or kiteboarding equipment. The unit can hold two bicycles.

About the Area

Located in Avon, this condo is on the waterfront. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Outer Banks Beaches and Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Ocean Air Sports and Hatteras Island Boardsports are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
