SOUNDSIDE Salvo – Wind Over Waves – Easing into your vacation is like a day at the beach at SPITTIN’ KITTY, a seven bedroom/seven full- and one-half-bath home located in an fresh community of gracious homes that share a 100-foot pier and boat ramp on Pamlico Sound. The ocean is close and comfortably walkable, too, making this home the rare gem that fulfills everybody’s vacation wish list, including up to two dogs, who are welcome.

Arrive, park and conveniently transport your suitcases and groceries into the home via a convenient elevator. Note the backyard volleyball net and get motivated for some heated action that is rewarded by a cool down in the private swimming pool. Fix yourself a drink at the screened-in poolside tiki bar and hit the four-person hot tub for a calming soak. The outdoor facilities also include a full outdoor bath with a shower and toilet, a convenience you’ll find rather useful.

If the competitive spirit follows you into the home, you’ll be delighted by a first level game room that features a pool table, flat screen TV and a full-size refrigerator, dishwasher and commercial ice maker. Also on this level is a theater room with a leather couch and a enormous flat screen TV. Pulling the kids away from here may seem like a challenge, but when they have their own bedroom with two sets of bunk beds and a private bath, they may surprise you. There is also a queen bedroom on this level, featuring a flat screen TV and private access to the back deck. A shared full bathroom and a full-sized washer/dryer complete this level. Four more primary ensuite bedrooms occupy the second level — three kings and one queen (with an accessible bathroom) — each with a flat screen TV and two of which offer access to a semi-wrap-around deck to savor the sound sunsets and cross ocean breezes.

The third level is the heart of the home that beats to the rhythm of your family’s comings and goings. Gather around the breakfast bar with your first morning cup of coffee to plan out your day. The kitchen behind it is roomy and well-equipped to efficiently feed a crowd. There’s room for everybody to sit together at the 14-seat dining table and appreciate the appointed chef’s creations. A great room provides plenty of comfortable seating to kick back for some intelligent TV watching and the re-telling of family lore. There’s also a half-bath on this level, as well as a impressive king master suite, complete with a hottub tub and private deck access to wish upon a starlit sky before drifting off to sleep. *Please note that this property has a pool that can be heated for $600. Pool heaters, when pool heat is purchased, are set to 80 degrees, but pool temperature cannot be guaranteed.

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection.
