Savor peaceful comfort in a secluded live oak setting at striking Piece of Serenity. With convenient access to the beach, this ocean-side home, with warm wood accents and high living room ceiling, a classic beach box with slight modern upgrades will provide ideally sized accommodations for a modest family vacation.

After a fun-filled day at the beach, rest your head on one of the two queen beds or two single beds in the three available bedrooms. All bedrooms have their own intelligent TVs and ceiling fans. Appreciate family time in the main living area with a enormous intelligent TV and BT stereo....that is if you can tear yourself away from the ocean!

Piece of Serenity offers a furnished sundeck and a covered porch with a hammock swing, ideal for sitting outside and appreciating some of those excellent Outer Banks sunrises and sunsets, listening to the roar of the ocean and watching the sweeping gleam of light from the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Protected under home parking with outdoor shower to rinse all of the salt and sand from your day at the beach. Fish cleaning station to clean todays catch and a huge gas grille for cooking it up or for another cooking option.

Piece of Serenity is located in close proximity to the lighthouse as well as a variety of shopping and eateries, ensuring that you won't have far to go to find additional vacation diversions. Located in Buxton, this vacation home is near the beach. Studio 12 and Kinnakeet Clay Works are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include Uncle Eddy's Frozen Custard and 18-Hole Mini Golf and Buxton Seafood. Frisco Mini Golf and Go Karts and Surf's Up are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses.   • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
