Welcome to "Be Still" in the Village of Hatteras, the only golf cart town on the island. As you pull in you have one covered space and 4 additional spaces on driveway for parking.
Outdoor amenities include a fish cleaning station/sink as well as a huge private shower to rinse off the sand from your adventures. There is a basketball court with three hoops available across the street at the Hatteras Civic Center. This area is paved and also fun for skateboards, roller blades and little ones learning to bicycle. Our neighborhood is peaceful and offers sleepy cul-de-sacs where guests can leisurely bicycle. Guests can also bicycle/walk/jog the length of the village on the paved bicycle path that leads to groceries, eateries, fresh seafood markets, THE coziest coffee shop and much more.
Accessing the home from the covered entryway, the first floor greets you with it's broad game room including both a pool table and a air hockey table. This floor also has a cavernous den with a Queen Sleeper Couch and a Roku TV. A twin over twin bunk room and a half bath are conveniently located on this floor.
Our second floor features soaring 10ft ceilings and plenty of room for everybody to spread out. The main kitchen in the heart of the home has a charming granite island with space and tools to prepare delicious meals after a day at the beach. Laundry, a full bath, and a bedroom with twin beds are off one end of the kitchen, and a private master suite w/full bath offering a place of peaceful refuge is on the opposite end of the home. The 2nd den is also on this floor with a Roku TV, and it leads to our wrap around porch overlooking two ponds where waterfowl and wildlife abound. Sip your coffee or tea and let the anxiety melt away as you appreciate vistas of the ocean, sound and dune line. This covered porch completely encircles the 2nd story of the home and has Adirondack chairs, a picnic table, cornhole, and best of all a 6 person hot tub on the oceanside. The porch embodies southern hospitality and is always a guest favorite. Come sit awhile and just Be Still.
Our third floor offers vistas of the ocean from all rooms including the 3rd den, two bedrooms (queen and king) and the outdoor dining area. Be ready to watch the waves crash and the kite surfers sail through the calm waters of the sound. The open floor plan includes a modest full kitchen, popcorn machine, and den with a 60" Roku TV. Both bedrooms have full attached baths!
No matter where you are in our home, you can't help but "Be Still" and savor the vistas, amenities, and most of all precious time in a most unique and calming village. Appreciate! We are so glad to be your host.

How to find the best vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in Hatteras. To book the most suitable rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Hatteras restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hatteras area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose and book the perfectvacation home:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Hot Tub / 5 BR / 4.5 Bath / Steps to the beach has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If not, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
