Outer Banks Motel Oceanside Accommodations is located on the beach in the cozy historic village of Buxton, also known as Cape Hatteras. This locally owned and operated motel continues its traditional old sea village hospitality with modern day upgrades and advancements to make the mainland visitor feel a bit more at casual. Whether you are here on a fishing trip, a historical tour of our iconic lighthouse and museums or just need to get away from the stressful city chaos to relax with the sound of ocean waves crashing on the beach, the site of beautiful sunrises and sunsets, the smell of salty ocean air while calming on the beach for no other reason than to feel the warm sand between your toes, let the original, never duplicated, Outer Banks Motel make your dreams a reality!
The bungalow being offered is our only one bedroom bungalow on the oceanside. It's strategically located on top of the main office facing the oceanfront. The staircases to the enormous private deck on either side of the pool and ocean-facing deck access the front door of the bungalow. The front door opens into the newly modernized and roomy open floor plan. With sizable windows on three sides of the bungalow, the spectacular morning sunrises over the ocean will flood your sole with awe while you're appreciating your morning cup of joe on the deck. While not an unobstructed view, the vistas of the ocean and Pamilco Sound are expansive. The bespoke kitchen cabinets are new for the 2024 guests. The kitchen has a full-sized refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, standard coffee maker, toaster, and electric can opener. All the pots, pans, dining and silverware are supplied. The bedroom is off the kitchen and has a queen bed and a twin bed with a closet and an antique heirloom dresser. The full bathroom, complete with a bathtub, is across the hall from the bedroom. This one bedroom bungalow has a locked adjoining door that accesses a standard motel room, and if available, could be rented with your bungalow for an additional charge. The oceanfront is just steps from your bungalow, the saltwater pool and hot tub are just in front of you. Below the bungalow is the motel guests' coin-operated washer and dryer and ice machine. Freshly upgraded WIFI and basic cable are included.

Getting the best Hatteras rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Reserve your Hatteras vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Hatteras visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Choosing the perfect rental home in the Hatteras area:
- To start, have your group choose a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Panoramic Cape Hatteras Views - One Bedroom Cottage has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before reserving the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
