OCEANVIEW Rodanthe - South Shore Dr. - Tucked away in a beautiful neighborhood, SUNSHINE DAYDREAM is sure to make memories to last a lifetime. You can watch the kids play in the private pool or have a calming moment in the hot tub, appreciating the moment. After a day in the sun, step into the game room and challenge your friends to a friendly game of pool or whip up a snack at the wet bar. When all the fun for the day has been had, you can put the kids asleep in one of the two rooms on the ground floor, one room is equipped with a pyramid bunk with a trundle the other, one pyramid bunk and one regular set of bunk beds. You can be just one floor away in one of the four master rooms, each equipped with their own TV and full private bath. After waking up you can step out and appreciate the deck that overlooks the pool area or slip away to the top floor and take in the vistas of the private deck in the final master bedroom. Bring the entire group together in the huge dining area for a meal with ocean view. After dinner, move to the great room and savor a movie while you watch the sun set behind you. You’ll be daydreaming of SUNSHINE DAYDREAM after your vacation. This home does not have a landline.

Vacation Rental Protection Plan: This required non-returnable $95 plan covers accidental damage within the home with a coverage limit of $3,000. It does not cover theft or willful misconduct. You must notify Surf or Sound Realty of any damage that occurs during your occupancy or this coverage will be void. Coverage is effective at time of check-in and ends at time of check-out.

Sticking to a budget:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the best value, try changing your family's Hatteras vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.

  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
