Come & appreciate our bespoke, professionally decorated bungalow as it is sure to please all your senses! Located behind live oaks and a private drive tranquility and serenity welcome you for your vacation all within walking distance to eateries, stores, and water-sports that make Rodanthe our special place on the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. If you adore wildlife, adventures, birds, water-sports, and the beach then our private escape is for you!

We have routine Lawn maintenance at Kites Inn Rodanthe. You don't have to do anything, just a heads up that our maintenance crews might say Hello and do their thing!
✔ WATER SPORTS
Rodanthe is know for world class winds and one of the the top kiteboarding and surfing destinations in the world! Within a one min. walk you can rent from our friends at Rodanthe Watersports and grab a kayak, paddle board! Get some lessons from Hatteras Sail shop for kite lessons!
✔ SAND
Please use the outdoor shower (hot & cold), or the hose to rinse sand off before entering . We also have supplied our shark brush to use for your toes! Please put it back after each use :)
✔ ENTERTAINMENT
In addition to the family room, deck spaces, porch, beach (please watch young ones at all times) you'll find a high speed WIFI network, 75" LG TV in main living, 32” Roku TV's in all 4 bedrooms. Bedroom TVs use Roku remote as main remote. Log into your paid services. Roku guest mode will log you out of all services upon checkout date you select.

Table for 8, counter bar for 3. Outdoor table seats 8 on top deck. Under home there is a picnic which sits 8!
✔ OUR YARD
Our sandy beach entry accesses the sound. Sea grass does visit us an we have left a rake- this a natural sand beach with a sizable body of water that has marine life which includes the sea grass and is brought in with weather changes. We have no control over this but just remember it feeds the wildlife and sea life and is necessary for other species. Please watch your kids at all times as the water is right outside our door! Supplied for your use is a huge Jenga game, swinging chair, outdoor shower, and lotys of hooks to hang your wet gear!
✔ BEACH ACCESSORIES
Please feel complimentary to use our body board or surf board during your stay. If it’s lost or stolen you will be responsible for replacement. We also provide beach chairs and some toys.

✔ HEAT / AC
please do not turn A/C lower than 72 or Heat higher than 70. There are two thermostats, one upstairs and one downstairs. Also please leave the fan remotes on the wall to avoid them being misplaced.
Note: with the wall of windows, in the summer months, the morning sun will warm the family room so please plan accordingly. Please also make sure the sliding doors are all closed entirely and that the door. between the first and second floor remains closed.

Laundry on middle level. Please note there is a dry entry that is not conditioned on the ground level & the middle level is up a flight of stairs and is where the bedrooms are. There is a door inside that leads to the main home please make sure this door is closed at all times to keep the home cool.

There is a a drip coffee maker. Bring your own Coffee and cone filters. We are walking distance to two excellent coffee stores!
✔ WINDS
There will be a chance of high winds during your stay- that’s why us Kiters appreciate it here! PLEASE be mindful of this and know that your things can blow away.
✔ SAND and FAMILY PETS
There is a hose for your feet and your puppies feet. You will get sand everywhere as we are on the beach. Try for your own sanity to let “Fido” dry off before they run circles through the home after a swim. There are many places for them to dry.
✔ WILDLIFE & PESTS
Given the climate, you should expect to see insects like beetles and waterbugs/palmeto bugs. We have monthly PEST control and do our best to mitigate the occurrences.
➜ No Refunds for weather, power outages, seaweed, or other incidents outside of our control. We do recommend our guests consider trip insurance.
➜ CHECK IN/OUT
Check-in is at 4pm and check-out is at 10am. While we try to go above and beyond to accommodate our guests, we cannot offer late departures. This is to allow our cleaning crew, ample time to make sure our bungalow is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before and after your stay. If you check out late, there will be a minimum $150 fee. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation with this. Early check-ins will be dependent upon whether there is a guest preceding your stay and any scheduled maintenance.

Use of all features, including but not limited to the use of stairs, grounds, and appliances are done at the guests sole risk. Booking the best vacation rental experience:

When to visit Rodanthe & When to book:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Hatteras area. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Hatteras area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
