SOUNDFRONT Buxton - Rocky Rollison Rd. - On a clear day you can see forever, or at least as far as Avon from the smartly refreshed SOUNDS GOOD, a four-bedroom/three- and one-half-bath home perched on Pamlico Sound. Ideal for both watersport enthusiasts and families who prefer the sound’s gentle shallow waters, this home offers an ideal setting to hit “reset” and relax.

When you arrive, pull into the carport and unload your gear. One flight up, discover a second level with a master king bedroom with ensuite bath; and a king and a queen/twin bedroom that share a hallway bath. The two king bedrooms feature Intelligent TVs and all of the bathrooms have been updated with faucets and two vanities for the half bathroom and first floor master. There’s a game room, too, with a Intelligent TV, great for entertaining kids and adults, alike. At the end of the day appreciate glorious sunset vistas from the deck or a calming soak in the six-person hot tub.

On the upper level, another master king bedroom with ensuite bath and Intelligent TV opens directly onto the home’s heartbeat: the great room, kitchen, and dining area. The kitchen makes it a joy to prepare the fresh catch you scored and conveniently cleaned at the lighted fish cleaning station earlier that day. The sound-facing dining area is all the more reason to linger long after the meal is finished; that is, unless the gentle breeze that’s caressing the deck tempts you back outside to wind down the evening. Wake up refreshed in the morning and follow a private path to the low entry at the water’s edge to launch your kite and surf boards, kayaks, and fishing expeditions. Getting the most from your budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
