This is a freshly refreshed single bedroom apartment located above DVO Surf Shop.
Savor all Hatteras Island has to offer from this comfortable apartment.
This unit comes with a complete recreation package from DVO. DVO is a full service recreational rental business and Surf Shop. You may check out any two pieces of rental equipment at any time during business hours you are staying as our guests. We offer bicycles, kayaks, surfboards, beach equipmenhht, stand up paddle boards, bodyboards, and much more.
Equipment can be reserved in advance or you may come downstairs and check out equipment during regular business hours.
When you are finished using the equipment, you may try something else. (Ex.- go for a bicycle ride in the morning then turn the bicycles out after your morning bicycle ride then check out a couple stand up paddle boards for an afternoon paddle on the sound.)
You may also reserve equipment in advance. (Ex.- book two bicycles on Monday, book two surfboards on Tuesday, book two paddle parts on Wednesday, etc…)
The first two prices of rental equipment are included at no charge. If you have up to 4 travelers, you may book two additional pieces of any equipment at 1/2 off and the first two are complementary .
We do occasionally run out of equipment during peek summer weeks so reserving the equipment in advance is recommended but not necessary. Visit mydvo.com to see everything available. Please use the owner/ guest portal to reserve your equipment.
The unit also offers a washer/dryer that is shared between the 3 rental on this property. There is WiFi snd two intelligent TV’s as well. We are a five min. walk to the beach and 5 min. walk to the sound as well.

About the Area

This apartment is located in Salvo. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Outer Banks Beaches and Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Rodanthe Pier and Ocean Air Sports are also worth visiting.

Get the best rental home value:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Salvo. To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses.   • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
