Welcome to Windwatch Cottage! A casual coastal vibe mixing old world bungalow with a modern design touch. This home features one of the best vistas in the Outerbanks with direct access to the water and own pier. Sip your morning coffee with a breath-taking sunrise & experience the colorful sound sunset from the warm hot tub! Grab the paddle boards or kayak from the closet, and take in all the sound has to offer from the water. Oceanside beach, coffee stores, eateries & bar are a short walk.
The space
Step inside this newly remodeled home with an open floor plan and beautiful vistas! This 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath bungalow has a huge broad deck overlooking the Pamlico Sound. 2 bedrooms located on the main level offer a queen bed and a full bathroom in each. One bathroom offers a shower, while the other offers a bathtub/shower combo. Upstairs, you will find a playful bunk room with 4 twin beds, a pullout twin couch, and a 1/2 bathroom. There is a intelligent tv in the bunk room as well as one in the living room. Board games and books galore.

The deck offers a hot tub, multiple lounge chairs to take it all in, and a picnic table underneath the covered porch. Down the patio steps you will find a heated outdoor shower, owners outdoor closet with 2 paddle boards, a kayak, beach chairs, and a cooler.

The water is fairly shallow and sandy just off the deck/pier so a good spot for swimming, playing in the water and launching your boards!

Strategies to get the very best rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Hatteras rental home:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • To get the best vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hatteras area visitors guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hatteras visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your search:

  • Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. New! Sound-front, Great Views, Kayak, Paddle board has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
