Hello! Welcome to Shell Cottage in impressive Salvo on Hatteras Island. Thank you for your interest. We are located on a peaceful street and just 390 feet from the beach access and a few mins.’ drive to a beach day-use park on the sound side. Traditional beach box bungalow. Come and savor a comfortable and cozy hideaway vacation! This classic beach bungalow is clean, fresh, and comfortable. Great hideaway for a couple or modest family, kite boarder, and surfers. Have a great, calming time at our handsome beach, never busy with its golden sands. Appreciate a great day of surf fishing or sunbathing and come out at nighttime with your flashlights and go ghost crab hunting. The roads are peaceful and safe to walk or ride your bicycle to the day-use park. Get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Unwind on the deck at nighttime and watch the sky full of stars, so close you feel like you could touch them, or in the screened porch while appreciating your barbeque from the charcoal grille included. Swim, fish, surf or kiteboard, windsurf, kayak or paddleboard on sound side. Salvo day-use park is ideal for a family with little ones where the water is shallow and warm. Rinse off in the outside shower! General store within walking distance. Lots of places to rent bicycles, boards, kayaks, fishing gear, all close by. Whether you are looking for adventure or just wanting to chill on the beach, cast your worries aside and come appreciate a simple, fun, and relaxing vacation.

(Colony Dr. is a very peaceful beach road, no traffic except for residents who live or vacation in Hatteras Colony ). The frequent visits from the ice cream and Kona Ice trucks are a plus!
