That would include the home’s private pool, too, surrounded by a wide patio to idle in the sun’s warmth. After a dip in the pool, dip into the ground-level game room to catch a must-see game on the TV, a competitive game of pool or a cool drink from the wet bar with full-size refrigerator. A half-bath is on this level, too.

The home’s middle level features three bedrooms, all with TVs and access to a covered deck. A king master bedroom has an ensuite bath and a deck off the front of the home. A queen bedroom and a room with two sets of bunk beds share a full hallway bathroom and open to a deck facing the sound and pool. The fourth bedroom is a king master with TV and ensuite bath just off the open living space on the top floor. About the Area

Located on the beach, this vacation home is in Brigands' Bay, a neighborhood in Frisco. Frisco Native American Museum and Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Frisco Mini Golf and Go Karts and Scotch Bonnet Marina. Buxton Seafood and Uncle Eddy's Frozen Custard and 18-Hole Mini Golf are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Getting the most from your spending budget:

• June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Hatteras area. To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Hatteras attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
• Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
• Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
• Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
• Look for your local Hatteras visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.

• Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
