Called North Carolina’s original offshore charter fleet, the Albatross Fleet was established in 1937 under the late Captain Ernal Foster. His son, Ernie heads the fleet today and offers trips to the best fishing grounds to catch a variety of species including billfish, Spanish mackerel, tuna, channel bass, bluefish, king mackerel, wahoo, dolphin and more.
They offer Gulf Stream trips, half-day near-shore charters and make-up charters.
The boats are licensed to hold 6 passengers. All bait, tackle and the saltwater fishing license is included in the price. Anglers provide their own food and drinks. Fish cleaning services are available at the private Foster’s Quay where they moor.
Captain Ernie has been fishing for more than 40 years and has a head full of history to share.
A deposit is required for all trips and a tip of 15-20% for the mate is customary. Call for reservations. They fish tear round.
