OCEANVIEW Salvo - Dory Road Mornings provide the sunrise over the ocean and evenings provide the sunset over the sound. A more calming vacation cannot be found! Just 3 tons from the ocean leaves only a short walk to the beach. Ground level features a carport, fish cleaning station, outdoor shower, charcoal grille, and 7-person hot tub. The first level master bedroom has a king bed and private bath. Additional first level bedrooms have one with a queen bed and one with a single and pyramid bunk. These two bedrooms share a bath. The upper level has a sunny, roomy living room with tons of seating, a dining area seating up to 10 people, kitchen and second master bedroom with a queen bed and bath. Just off the dining area is a screened porch with table and chairs for dining. Decks on both levels provide access to appreciate those marvelous vistas. Choose SHIFTING SANDS for your vacation home and experience the best that Hatteras Island has to offer!

New for 2024: This year brings a new bedroom layout. The first-level master bedroom, currently a queen, will now feature a king bed. The bedroom with two singles will be converted to a queen bedroom.
New for 2023: Shifting Sands will have an elevator for guest use. Smoking no longer allowed.

You must notify Surf or Sound Realty of any damage that occurs during your occupancy or this coverage will be void. Coverage is effective at time of check-in and ends at time of check-out.

Located by the sea, this vacation home is in Spindrift Banks, a neighborhood in Salvo. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Outer Banks Beaches and Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Get the most from your rental budget:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Hatteras area. Booking your Hatteras vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses.
