Wahoo Unit #102 is a first-floor suite that comes with a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable furnishings, three flatscreen TVs, two DVD players, and a stereo/CD player for your enjoyment. The Durant Station Condominiums offer spectacular ocean vistas from every property. This condo has a private oceanfront deck, as well as a sound-side deck for viewing colorful sunsets. Elevator service to all levels makes Durant Station a most convenient choice for all ages: no need to haul suitcases and groceries up long flights of stairs! Guests are just a few short steps to the ocean via a private wooden walkway. The Hatteras area offers some of the best fishing and sunbathing on the East Coast.

At Durant Station, you'll savor a host of amenities, including one of Hatteras Island's biggest private pools, with an adjacent hot tub available April 1st to January 2nd. The Durant Station Community Center is crowned by the original historic Durant Lifesaving Station tower, a rich piece of Hatteras Island's past. You'll find the Community Center ideal for calming with friends, conducting meetings, wedding events and receptions, or simply appreciating the lounge areas, which offer a enormous-screen 50-inch plasma TV, and a complete kitchen on the upper level. The Durant Station complex consists of three floors, which start about 12 feet above the ground. All Durant Station condos have central AC, TV with streaming, Satellite HDTV with a DVR, high-speed WiFi for your devices, and solid surface counters in the kitchen.

Centrally located on the first floor is a coin-operated laundry facility with an ocean view. A huge, separate fish-cleaning station, BBQ grilles, and outdoor shower facilities complete the picture. The Durant Station Condominiums are located in Hatteras Village, oceanfront on Highway 12. Savor being beachfront and near local eateries and stores.

This home has access to a community pool, the community pools in our area are typically open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Community pools are operated at the discretion of the community HOA so the availability schedule may be subject to change without notice.

Finding the best value:

  • Summer is high season in Hatteras. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Hatteras vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.

  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
