The Boiler is a third floor, water view 3-bedroom,2.5-bathroom penthouse suite.
The Boiler features teak floors, tile bathrooms, carpeted bedrooms and a full modern award-winning kitchen with an s-bend granite drink bar. The living room features leather furnishings, a flat screen TV, cable and Apple TV. Space to entertain includes a dining room table with seating for 6 and bar seating for 4. The primary bedroom has a private full bathroom, walk-in tile shower and walk-in closet. The second bedroom features a king bed while the third has a queen bed. Each bedroom has a flatscreen TV with cable. The shared fullbath has a bathtub shower combo. The living area and primary bedroom provide access to the east facing deck with Atlantic Ocean and Pamlico Sound waterviews. The bedrooms provide access to a water view balcony.

The Boiler does not have the direct waterfront vistas of our waterfront suites but does offer enough water vistas to soothe the soul and keep you in touch with the conditions to hit the water when it’s peaking.

Guests of Watermen’s Retreat get kite launching and landing access at REAL Watersports and 10% off at the REAL Watersports Rental Shop.

Additional amenities include Wi-Fi internet access, an in-suite washer and dryer, base level secure gear storage, covered parking, an elevator and fast access to REAL Watersports and Watermen’s Bar and Grille. All Watermen’s Retreat properties include bed linens, made beds upon arrival, bathroom towels, coffee filters, drip coffee maker, salt & pepper, dishwasher soap tabs, dish soap, sponge and kitchen towels.

Our three-bedroom water view penthouses are named after two of the “day of the year” surfing locations in Cape Hatteras. When you score either of these two spots on a 5-star day, you will never forget it: “The Boiler” and “The Cove.”

About the Area

This condo is located in Waves. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Outer Banks Beaches and Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Rodanthe Pier and Ocean Air Sports are also worth visiting.

Strategies for getting the best rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

• The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
• June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
• Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
• Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
• Find a copy of your local Hatteras visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have deals for local shops and restaurants.

• Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation.
• Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
• If there's a specific Hatteras destination you simply love, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
• Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Advice for a great stay:

• Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
• Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
• Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
• To make sure no damages are linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
• Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
• Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
• Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
• Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
• Did you have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
