Outer Banks Horseback

This trip was amazing. The horses were great and the guide was great as well. My only complaint is that we were with a group of like 5 other people whose riding abilities were much less experienced than ours. We were under the impression/expected that we would be able to split off from the beginner group and ride at a pace we would enjoy. Due to covid the guide said they were only using one guide this year (instead of 2) so we were unable to split off and do any trotting or cantering unfortunately. But it was still an enjoyable experience over all.

I would recommend that they consider offering a longer more private ride option in addition to their services! We definitely would have paid more to have a longer ride time at a pace we would have enjoyed more!

They advertise professional photography which is false. The only photography is once you get on the beach you line up and the guide asks if you want a picture taken from your phone. They advertise cantering, apparently you only get to canter if the guides feel like it. We did not canter and I kept asking when we would canter and they would blow off my question. I paid $100 to check cantering on the beach off my bucket list and did not get to do it. If the reasoning is that the beach is too crowded, you have to find somewhere to have your business where people can get what is advertised. I will be trying a different riding company next time and will specifically ask them about cantering. I am an experienced rider and my heart was broken that I couldn't get that awesome beach ride. 2 stars because the view was pretty and the guide up front who was new was nice.

My family has been coming down to the OBX for almost 40 yrs and this is something we've always wanted to do but never done until now. We took our mother in her 70s and my neice who is 13. What an amazing ride!!!! These guys were very cool, explained everything we needed to know and helped to calm some of our (my) fears! We will be back!!! Thank you!

This was a great outing with my family (ages 8-70). The guides were super helpful and obviously really care about the horses. I was also very impressed by the owner Chase and how quickly he addressed my questions. My son keeps asking when we can go back so we will definitely be booking again with them in the future.

My dad and I had a fantastic ride with OBX Horseback today! The horses were very well disciplined and the guides were knowledgable and friendly. The tour on the beach was so tranquil and secluded. We had the beach to ourselves for most of the ride. Our group was small and the ride was very relaxed. I'd highly recommend this company and experience!

The tour guides were wonderfuland the horses well trained, however please be careful of fees. I was looking to join a group and had to book a 2 person tour. Only 1 spot was open. My tour was not 2 and a guide. I was instead put with a group of more than 10 and still charged a private guided tour rate.

Had an incredible experience with Outer Banks Horseback. Fantastic ride along the beach. We especially appreciated the flexibility of letting my stepdaughter have some freedom with speed and distance since she is an experienced rider. Our guide was very friendly and took some great pics as well.
