A note for traveling guests w/ out dogs- don't worry the home is very clean, while Captain's is dog friendly, the home is thoroughly cleaned after each guest, no carpeting in home, area rugs are steam cleaned frequently, all comforters are washed every week and more. As one non pet guest stated “ the home is graciously pet friendly, though you wouldn’t notice”. Of all the 5 star reviews- guests appreciated and mention how clean Captain's Hideout is.

One can literally spend the entire day @Captain's Hideout out sunbathing on the decks, on the beach, watersports, grille dinner on the decks appreciate sunset.

Pristine uncrowded beaches, watersports, boating, fishing, shell collecting, star gazing, historic places, great eateries, outdoor dining, complimentary sunshine, Sunrise and Sunset each day over the water, Music, Arts. Yet with all of this Hatteras is still a place where you really can get away from it all if solitude is your destination.
The sound front beach @ Captain's has a modest dock and pilings suitable for a jetski or modest boat.
Boat ramp is 1/2 mile away @ Avon harbor.

The dock is sound front and during times of gale winds can get very rough. Please bring lines for proper docking and stay aware of the weather as you may need to move your vessel for safety.

It is easy to spend a day just hanging out on the beach here, right at home. A unique advantage of Captains Hideout is the private sandy beach and sound front, bay, just steps from the home. No long walk down a hot path toting heavy chairs, gear, SUP's, kayaks, coolers etc. Literally 50 steps to the beach, Adirondack chairs are in place. The easy access makes Captains Hideout a favorite place for those wishing to enjoy the sound front beach, enchanting water vistas and sitting by the water without the long haul. The close proximity of the decks to the sound means guests that may prefer decks can enjoy the vistas and watch water activities in comfort also. Waterfront home, suitable for watersports.
